2023 Argiano Rosso di Montalcino DOC

A fresh, juicy expression of Sangiovese made from de-classified Brunello di Montalcino grapes. 100% Sangiovese from marl and limestone soils. Organic. 12-22 year old vines. Aged for just a few months in large French and Slavonian cask.

Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: Winter was warm and rainy, providing enough water reserves. March was milder than usual, while April was cooler. Spring rains increased in May, causing challenges in agricultural work. Montalcino experienced heavy rainfall, with 400mm from May to June. June and July were hot, but not excessively. August saw a heatwave, while September and October had above-average temperatures. Despite atypical weather, high-quality grapes were achieved with good ripening.
