2022 Brancaia ‘Ilatraia’

Brancaia’s most powerful and concentrated expression, made from their vineyards in the Maremma, on the Tuscan coast. A blend of  Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Organic. Aged in new and used barriques.

Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: The 2022 vintage was marked by an exceptionally hot summer, but the spring rains helped maintain good foliage on the vines and achieve excellent grape ripening at harvest.

"A complex and spicy wine with aromas of cedar, licorice, black cherries, cassis and earth. Full-bodied and extracted but not without elegance, it shows density and velvety tannins, with great balance in the finish. It’s tense and savory. Quite muscular to drink now, but it will be at its best in 2026."
