2022 Argiano ‘Solengo’ 1.5L

The first Super Tuscan wine produced in Montalcino, originally made by the legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, and Merlot. Estate grown. Organic. 15-22 year old vines. Aged in new and used barriques.

Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: The 2022 vintage stared with fairly mild weather and little rainfall. Sprouting occurred about 7-10 days earlier than normal and gave rise to an uneven but still composed growth. Since mid-May, temperatures rose above seasonal averages. Veraison began one week earlier on August 18. At the end of August, we saw the first thunderstorms that really restored the situation and allowed the plants to ripen their bunches. The registered quality of this vintage was very high—a year that started with a bit of fear but that, in the end, was exceptional.
