2021 Ratti ‘Serradenari’ Barolo
A high-elevation bottling from a four hectare parcel in the Serradenari cru. Elegant and floral. Estate grown. 500m asl. 30 year old vines. Aged for 2 years in barrique and large Slavonian cask.
Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: A mild, wet winter with snowfall contibuted to water reserves. Despite early frost challenges, damage was minimal. Warm weather in April and May led to traditional fruit set timing. The Nebbiolo harvest ran from late September to mid-October. The vintage produced structured, age-worthy wines with concentrated flavors, despite lower yields
96 points, James Suckling
"Very composed and attractive aromas of violets, underbrush and wild berries. The palate is firm but balanced, with precise tannins and a linear core of fruit that is flavorful and firm at the end. Very well constructed. Needs a few years to shine. Best from 2027."
