2020 Brancaia Chianti Classico Riserva
A modern and plush expression of Chianti Classico, made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Estate grown from vineyards in Radda and Castellina in Chianti. Organic. 30 year old vines. The Sangiovese is aged in tonneaux and the Merlot is aged in barriques.
Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: A mild winter gave way to early budbreak, followed by a late March cold snap. Thankfully, this had little effect on yields. Throughout the rest of the season, the phenological development of the vines was regular, with average temperatures and modest precipitation. The otherwise warm and dry summer resulted in grapes with high sugar content, but balanced with optimal acidity and pH. The grapes were excellent at harvest

"A pretty red, this boasts cherry, strawberry, rose, mineral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Straddles the fence between elegant and powerful, with the firm structure and vibrant acidity keeping this focused and long. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2025 through 2045."
