2018 Allegrini La Poja

La Poja is a single cru wine from a parcel at the top of the hill of La Grola and the highest expression of the estate. 100% Corvina. Estate grown. Single vineyard. Organic. 330m asl. 40 year old vines. Aged for more than 2 years in barrique and large Slavonian cask.

Vintage Notes from the Winemaker: The 2018 harvest was long, with slow ripening, and abundant, high-quality grapes. On the eve of the harvest, heavy rains made us fear the worst, but fortunately, the forecasted weather conditions failed to materialize. In September, we experienced a 'mini summer,' with high overall temperatures but also equally high fluctuations (even differenes of 15C between day and night), which enabled the frapes to attain ideal ripeness. Phenolic maturity was achieved in the last third of September.
